Vocabulary- Chapter 2

Obliterated – v – to destroy something so that nothing remains

Guttering v – if a flame gutters, it is weak and does not burn steadily

Whetted – v – to sharpen the cutting edge or blade of a tool or weapon, usually by rubbing it on a stone

Berth – v – to keep well away from somebody or something considered unpleasant or dangerous (“a wide berth” is the phrase it is commonly used in)

Vulnerable -adj- exposed to an attack or possible damage
